Aero Bat Pac 12V De-Sulfator/Smart Charger, Model#12112GA (Also Available In 6volt Models) If You Fly Several Times A Week, You May Not Need This Battery De-Sulfator/Maintainer....Quite As Much.... Aero Bat Pac 24V 2.4 amp, Commercial Grade/Heavy Duty De-Sulfator/Chargers
Model#24021GA24V  (Available in both 12 and 24volt)
Same basic features as the 12V unit, but comes in a larger "commercial grade" format and 2.4 amp output charger.  It features a durable aluminum case and comes complete with terminal ring connections and temporary alligator clips. The 24v unit is similar in appearance to our Heavy Duty 2.4amp 12volt unit which is ideal for larger batteries and quicker de-sulfation for heavily sulfated batteries. 

Requires 110V input.  In it's "charge" mode it is a capable 2.4 Amps charger as well as an effective heavy duty De-Sulfator.  Like it's smaller 12 V cousin (Model 12112GA), it is especially suited for long-term maintenance as well as de-sulfation of all typical GA 24V batteries including gel cell etc.   It has 3 separate modes:  Charge (/2 amps), De-Sulfate/Condition, and Long-Term Maintenance/Monitoring.  As with all of our "tuned frequency" units, these Heavy Duty units will generally reject a battery with a "shorted cell", vibration damage, or other than heavy sulfation problems, as un-recoverable.

  Operations And Instructions  

  Basic Instructions and Operational Limitations: The unit plugs directly into a standard wall outlet (or extension cord) eliminating the need to disconnect the battery from its normal use location.  However, while no damage has ever been recorded to any avionics or electronic equipment on-board, when used on aircraft it is recommended the battery be disconnected.   However, some users reported they have been successful in treating the battery while it remains in the aircraft providing all avionics are shut down including various "keep alive" circuits during the pulse de-sulfating process.  The Underwriters Lab (UL) and CSA LISTED Aero Bat Pac has both Charge/ Power On as well as Battery Condition / Polarity indicators. The unit will reject a "shorted cell" or deeply discharged battery while ensuring a full charge (and pulse De-Sulfation) to all others, including deep cycle marine, gel and maintenance free automotive.  If your battery is dead or deeply discharged to the point it doesn't register sufficient voltage to "excite" or turn on our units, it may be necessary to charge it with a standard charger prior to using one of our units.   Click Here For Aviation Instructions and FAQs.  Auto Diagnostic Feature:  One method to determine if a battery is rejected, as “junk” (such as with a shorted cell), is the fact the Bat Pack unit will never switch to the pulse mode as signified by the green light pulsing.  Sometimes if the battery isn’t fully discharged and doesn't have a shorted cell, you can “force” it into the pulse mode by clicking the manual pulse override button.  While some charging takes place in the pulse mode, it is generally recommended to simply temporarily detach and then re-attach the unit to the subject battery and then allow the unit to automatically chose it’s method of operation.  Typically, it will switch from “charge” to “pulse” after battery is fully charged or some 24-48 hours if the battery is salvageable. Note:  Pulse de-sulfation can take weeks (or longer) depending on the level of sulfation and size of the battery etc.  Typically if the battery has a shorted cell and/or doesn't respond in a month (or so) of cumulative pulse de-sulfation it is beyond help and should be replaced. The 1 1/2amp 12v, and Heavy Duty 12v chargers  (2.4 amp 24V unit) function similar to other chargers and will charge like other chargers providing the battery isn't totally dead to begin with.  However, typically the de-sulfation function or process takes several days if not weeks (or longer) to remove significant sulfation deposits from battery plates.  Generally, the larger the battery and/or the more sulfation present the longer it takes to de-sulfate. Pulse de-sulfation is a process for long-term preventative maintenance.   All units come complete with a simple to use hydrometer type battery tester, quick connect terminal assemblies.  Both Bat Pac units come with a 5 year “no hassle” warranty.  Typically, severely sulfated batteries can be restored to approx. 70-80%+/-  of their original rated capacity if they have no other physical maladies such as a shorted cell etc.  These units will not repair shorted cells or physical damage to batteries, but will only remove (and help keep from forming in the future), most sulfation which has formed due to neglect or batteries which have not been charged on a regular basis etc.  If left unattended for long periods of time and if used in accordance with directions, generally water never needs to be replaced while batteries are being maintained with Aero Bat Pac as the unit is designed to never "boil out" the electrolyte (battery acid).
